Temple Ground Breaking Announced

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the ground breaking for the Ft. Lauderdale Florida Temple.

It will be broadcast live to stake centers and other designated chapels throughout the mission on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 10:00.

Elder Walter F. Gonzalez of the Presidency of the Seventy will be presiding at this event. He will be accompanied by Elder William R. Walker of the Seventy.

Members and Missionaries are encouraged to invite their friends, neighbors, work associates and investigators to this highly anticipated and long awaited event. There remains much to be accomplished in the pre-construction phases of the temple. It is anticipated however that the actual construction phase will begin in the winter of 2011 and take approximately two years to completion and dedication.
